Pause
and
Linger

NSIC GROUNDS, OKHLA, NEW DELHI
NEAR INDIA ART FAIR VIP LOUNGE

In collaboration with Mangrove Collective
The
Conversation
Collection
The Conversation Collection explores the dialogue between two materials — concrete and wood, as well as two contrasting aesthetics — the elemental and the decorative.
A pre-cast concrete block is juxtaposed with
a flourish of botanical motifs hand-crafted in wood, cascading down its surfaces. The conversation between the two heightens
each other’s inherent beauty.

Tactile, sensorial and often playful, the objects invite you to reimagine their use — to pause, linger and have conversation.

The Making
Each piece is made with two processes, the industrial and the handmade. The concrete is pre-cast with an FRP mould, and the wood is hand-carved in relief by a master-craftsman.
A locally sourced species of Acacia wood is used.
The Conversation Collection is a
collaboration with Mangrove Collective, a design and build team that works on the principles of a conscious process — an approach that celebrates local resources
and a keen sensitivity to all stakeholders
and the environment.
